  Rustic-Shell for Windows

This is a Windows installer EXE, based on the free-software installer created by NullSoft. It installs a very basic CygWin environment in your Win*/XP/WinNT computer, and a desktop icon. You can uninstall it with the usual ControlPanel/Uninstall software tool. I created it in order to have the sshd daemon running on my Windows XP machine. With this package you will have:

  • A minimal UNIX shell, with mv,rm,cp,vi,grep,find etc (it starts with bash.bat)
  • The ssh client
  • The sshd server (it starts with sshd.bat)
Download rustic-shell package.
Alert: Do not install this package is you already installed the complete CgyWin system. They may interfer.
Warning: I tested the package under Windows XP (works well) and Windows 98 (works mostly). The package is absolutely without any form of warranty, as usual.
