| Are you guys aware of LEON, an open source soft IP
core microprocessor.  It was (& is) developed by Jiri Gaisler of the
european space agency.  It is a microcontroller implementing the SPARC v8
ISA.  It has timers, a UART and an AMBA bus built into the (VHDL)
model.  GCC, GNAT and Binutils have been ported.  uCLinux has
sucessfully being ported to it, as has RTEMS.  It has a website http://www.estec.esa.nl/wsmwww/leon/ ,
and a discussion group at http://www.egroups.com/group/leon_sparc/ .
I myself am currently trying to get the LEON model up and running on a Xess
virtex FPGA board (an XSV300). |
