FEATURES
SpeedX is a clone of old racing games in rear-view.
The purpose of this project is to propose a quick multiplayer
game under the X11 interface. The program can be freely modified
and distributed under the GPL licence terms.
Please let us know of any modification or suggestion.

REQUIREMENTS
- X11 headers files
- zlib
- libpng
HOWTO
To compile the game, execute the ./configure script, then
do a 'make' on the game directory.
Run the game in the
src/ directory with 'speedx' or 'speedx --help' to get
some help.
You can move with the numeric keypad : 8,
4, 6, and 2
Good racing time !
WISHLIST
- Better physics
- Hills and vertical curve (Voxel ?)
- Other cars
- Make each opponents different color
- Multi-car racing
- Why not a mini ray-tracer to display cars ?
- Menu, presentation screen with choice (keys, difficulty, d'adversaires ..)
- Landscape around the road
- Network gaming
- High scores, other laps, etc ..
- show the turns number
- Bigger window
- Game musics
- Parameter for the behaviour of opponents
- Different opponent style
BUGS
- When in 2 players mode, it seems that the frame speed is not the same.
- Shared Memory may stay persistant when killing speedx.
- core dumped when data directories are not found.
- if the speed is too fast the road seems to go in the opposite side ..
