Configuration Client
(Centralized Managment and Notification Tool)

What is a Configuration Client?
Configuration Client is a software sub-module of the manager installed on a management station that runs independently from the main program. Configuration Client is used as a tool to notify system administrators of event occurrences in multiple RAID arrays.

To avoid the blind time of system monitoring, Configuration Client and its Root Agents can be installed and run on different servers. Access to servers installed with the utility is made through the Root Agent's IP address.

Configuration Client's Notification Methods:
Configuration Client provides the following methods for sending notifications: SNMP Traps, Email, LAN broadcast, Fax, ICQ, SMS, and MSN Messenger
. Some notification methods, such as the connectivity with a Fax machine, requires Windows MAPI support on the servers used as the management platforms.

How to Install Configuration Client?
The sub-module is automatically installed when users select the first installatiion scheme, "Centralized Management" during the initial stage of software installation. The same Installshiled wizard is used for installing both the manager program and the Configuration Client.

What does the Configuration Client Provide?
The Configuration Client is another GUI that allows you to configure the notification functions.
