Map LUN and LUN Filtering

To Map Logical Configurations to Host ID/LUNs:

1. Repeat the procedure described in the previous page to open the LUN Map Setting window

2. The Filter Setting allows you to set Group Name (a group of Host HBAs sharing the same access authorities), Host ID (one of the HBA WWN names used as basis ID), Host ID Mask (used as masking value, same as setting routing table entries on a LAN/WAN), Filter Type (to include or exclude certain adapters from data access), and Access Mode (ready-only/read+write).

NOTE: If a host adapter's port name used as the basic ID and the default mask value, "FFFFFFFFFFFFFF," is applied, the host will fall exactly within the ID range for the port name ID AND'ed with mask equals the basic ID AND'ed with mask.

If, for instance, a value "0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFC" is selected, and the basic ID is "0x11111111111111," HBAs bearing port name IDs from "0x….1110" to "0x….1113" will fall in the ID range.

3. Click OK to complete the process.

4. The Generic Operation Manual that came with your array has more information on configuration a LUN Filtering mapping.
